Trips and outings: time together beyond the workshop.
Getting out and about
Out and about.
Trips and outings are a growing part of Shed life. Getting out together is a chance to see somewhere new, share a story or two and enjoy each other’s company away from the workbench. Members and their partners are welcome to come along.
Fleet Air Arm Museum.
On 21 May 2025 a group of Shedders visited the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton. We explored the halls, from early biplanes and helicopters to Concorde and the Harrier, and spent time in the galleries telling the story of naval aviation since 1909.
Lunch together.
After the museum we stopped for lunch at the Ilchester Arms, raising a glass around one long table. Good food and good company are as much a part of our outings as the destination itself.
Christmas meal.
Our Christmas meal is one of the highlights of the Shed year, a chance for members to celebrate together and look back on everything we have made and done. This year’s meal is on 10 December.
Join a trip.
Outings are planned by members, and new ideas are always welcome. If you would like to come along on the next trip, or have somewhere in mind, ask at the Shed during opening hours or get in touch through our Contact Us page.
More photos.
Photos from our trips and outings are shared on our Facebook page, along with news of where we are heading next.
